To feel better, I am following these little tips, maybe they can help you too.
- When I wake up in the morning I avoid staying in my pajamas all day. I put on comfortable clothes and shoes, sometimes I do a little make-up, put on some perfume, fix my hair as if I were expecting an informal visitor. This helps me to prepare my mood to start the new day.
- I keep the house tidy and clean: this helps to maintain a balance and avoid falling into chaos.
- I put on music, the radio. I avoid the news for a few hours to get a better feeling of normality.
- I socialize with video calls, talk to the neighbors from the balcony or window.
- I make plans for when everything is over by trying to reorganize the postponed plans.
- I try to take it as a spiritual retreat, a break to go out and start over later.
It’s difficult, of course. Nevertheless, when you feel very overwhelmed, try to stay positive, focus on the fact that you have food, water, electricity, a home, internet, television, health care and live in peace. This is the second time that I am living a big crisis, I am from Cuba and during the nineties, with the fall of the Soviet block, food, water, electricity and, almost all supplies were scarce. Thinking positively, seeing all that adds up and focusing on glimpsing the light at the end of the tunnel is important to maintain equanimity. I don’t like to say it, but the truth is that it could be much more dramatic.
This will pass. Soon the reunions with family and friends will happen and they will be very exciting. Now let’s keep a positive mind, take care of your health because, with health, life, society, and economy are better. #Stayhome
